Steam events at papplewick

Eight weekends a year Papplewick Pumping Station fires up the Lancashire boilers. The original twin beam engines, built by James Watt & Co, can be seen in all their glory. Witness their grandeur in the spectacular Engine house amongst the elaborate Victorian decoration, moving as they did back in the 1880’s. All steam events run 10am till 4pm.

    Date : 5th & 6th April

    Time : 10am - 4pm

    English Civil War & Steam is coming back to Papplewick this easter with The Sealed Knot setting up camp and demonstrating war time life in Seventeenth Century Britain. Plus, all engines in steam!

  • Classic and Vintage Vehicles Event at Papplewick

    Vintage & Classic Vehicles Steam Event

    Date : 3rd & 4th May

    Time : 10am - 4pm

    We are proud to be hosting our 8th annual Vintage & Classic Vehicles Steam event. A fascinating display of beautifully restored classic cars and vintage vehicles. With live music from Higgs Bosun (Sun 3rd) and other acts to be confirmed.

    Artisan Fair & Steam Event

    Date : 24th & 25th May

    Time : 10am - 4pm

    Papplewick’s Artisan Fair & Steam event returns for its fourth year. Enjoy live music throughout the weekend and artisan traders along with interactive workshops for all the family.

    Date : 11th & 12th July

    Time : 10am - 4pm

    Our Steampunk event is celebrating its 10th year! We have live music from Alice Strange (Sat 11th), with other headline acts to be confirmed. Over 30 trade stalls plus more to be announced, all engines will be in steam.

    This August, Papplewick is hosting its Classic Motorcycle & Steam Weekend. Live music on both days, alongside a stunning display of bikes through the ages. We look forward to seeing you!

    Enjoy a weekend of family friendly shows and interactive workshops alongside live music and artisan trade stalls. Plus, a stunning display of classic and vintage vehicles. There will be something for everyone!

  • 1940s Events at Papplewick

    The 1940s Steam Event

    Date : 17th & 18th October

    Time : 10am - 4pm

    Papplewick’s ever popular 1940s is now in its 18th year. Come see an array of military and civilian re-enactors plus encampment displays along with period vehicles, trade stalls. The dramatic Cooling Pond takes place at 2pm both days and is not to be missed.

  • Krampus Festival at Papplewick

    Kramplewick Steam Event

    Date : 14th & 15th November

    Time : 10am - 4pm

    Kramplewick is back at Papplewick in 2026. Whitby Krampus Run will be causing mischief all weekend. Come and join in with drumming and parades, enjoy the live entertainment or just do a bit of shopping. Plus, all engines in steam.
