WEDDINGS AT PAPPLEWICK PUMPING STATION

Set in tranquil countryside, Papplewick Pumping Station is one of Europe’s great Industrial Monuments. It is a shining example of Victorian engineering and architecture that will provide a unique and spectacular setting for your wedding day.

The pumping station has been a wedding venue since 2009 and hosts an average of fourteen weddings a year between April and mid October. We are a seasonal venue and do not take bookings for winter weddings, nor can we accept bookings for Bank Holiday weekends as this is when we are in steam for the general public.

CEREMONIES

For the ceremony, most couples choose the wonderfully ornate Engine House but if required The Old Board Room and The Tarbotton Room, located within the Superintendent’s House, are also available.

The Engine House

The Engine House can seat 30 people plus the wedding couple and two registrars on the mezzanine floor where the ceremony will be conducted. A further 40 guests can stand below on the Engine floor. Alternatively, you can opt for an all-standing or partially standing ceremony which allows for increased capacity on the mezzanine (max. 50). Ceremonies can also be located on the Engine floor to avoid the staircase up to the mezzanine.

For comfort and safety our maximum guest limit is 75 people inside the building.

The Tarbotton Room

Weddings 6

The Old Board Room and The Tarbotton Room are smaller ceremony rooms located within the Superintendent’s House. They can seat approximately 25 and 12 people respectively. They are both wheel chair accessible.

The grounds and architectural splendour of Papplewick are available as a stunning backdrop for photographs, especially the Engine House both inside and out, the Par Terre lawn and the Cooling Pond.

Wedding ceremonies

The full hire of the site for your wedding ceremony comprises the use of:

  • The Engine House or The Old Board Room or The Tarbotton Room

  • Exclusive three hour use of the grounds and Engine House for photographs

  • Ivory Chivari chairs & ceremony table with lace cloth

  • Provision of disposable 125ml champagne flutes

  • Serving of beverages to your guests

The full cost for the ceremony package is:

£695

+ VAT

Payment for the registration officers is not included and needs to be arranged directly with the Nottinghamshire Registration Service.

The CEREMONY PACKAGE

The full hire of the site for your wedding ceremony comprises the use of:

  • Exclusive three hour use of the grounds and Engine House for photographs

  • Ivory Chivari chairs & ceremony table with lace cloth

  • Provision of disposable 125ml champagne flutes

  • Serving of beverages to your guests

Wedding receptions

The tranquil grounds of the pumping station are also available to hire should you wish to arrange your own wedding reception.

The hire of Papplewick for a reception will entitle you to exclusive use of the site for your wedding breakfast, photos, disco etc for a maximum of 9 hours, between 2pm and 11pm. If you wish the hire time to commence earlier, an additional £100 per hour is required.

Arrangements for catering, marquee, music, bar, lighting, etc. are left to you so you can tailor the reception precisely to your own liking, taste and particular budget.

The full cost for hiring the grounds for a wedding reception is :

£1100

+ VAT

If you wished to have a combined ceremony and reception the cost is:

£1600

+ VAT
